Dua for parents suggests that the further parents do to raise their children, educate them mores, and give them a sound religious parenting, the further those children come obliged to their parents and should, thus, Dua for them as much as possible. In fact, this suggests that anyone who plays a part in someone’s parenting, nurturing, and mentoring, similar as preceptors, other members of the family or neighbors, also deserves special supplication and prayers.
Dua literally meaning “ incantation ”, is an act of prayer. The term is deduced from an Arabic word expressing to ‘ call out ’ or to ‘ summon ’, and Muslims regard this as a profound act of worshipping.

Importance of Parents in islam:
We enjoined the human being to be good to his parents. In pain did his mother bear him and in pain did she give birth to him.
— Quran 46:15
why should we recite dua for our parents?
All religions and all societies have given parents an honorable status. From a purely material standpoint, we find ourselves obliged to our parents, particularly our mama . She not only nourished us in her womb, but went through pain and suffering. She loved us indeed before we were born. She toiled when we were completely helpless babies. She spent insomniac nights minding for us. Our parents as a platoon handed for all our requirements physical, educational, cerebral, and in numerous cases, religious, moral, and spiritual.
Your Lord has commanded that you worship none but Him, and that you be good to your parents. If either of them or both of them reach old age with you, do not say to them a word of disrespect, nor scold them, but say to them kind words. And lower to them the wing of humility, out of mercy, and say, ‘O my allah, have mercy upon them (my parents) as they brought me up (when I was) child.’ Your Lord knows best what is in your hearts. If you are righteous, then He is Most-Forgiving for those who turn to Him in repentance.
— Quran 17:23–25
Note: share this dua with your friends and family and also remember us in your prayers. Thanks:)
